Im looking at doing a Modeltech 57" mustang converted to electric. I was looking at a AXI 2826/08 for it and was woundering what everyone thought of this combo. Right now i am flying a World models electric 40" mustang w/ a AXI 2808/24 and its a great plane but i want to step up to something bigger. I was thinking of going like a 5 cell 3500 or 4000 li-po pack on it. I am fairly new to the brushless/li-po stuff and wanted to get some opinions before i went out and spent money on the wrong equipment. Thanks again guys,

Aaron

Motor will be working it's little heart out, Go for the 413016, you wont look back!
I run this motor in a couple of models with 6s lipols 4000mhr is ok but 5000is a little more pratical. A14x10 prop should work up about 800watts, a little extra power but for scale speeds use the throttle.

Here’s an article about a Mustang conversion: http://www.rcgroups.com/links/index.php?id=4788 .

Don’t think the 2800 AXI is a good choice; too small & difficult mounting arrangement in this model.

I'm using that motor in a 54" P-51 that weighs 5.5lbs and it was WAY underpowered. I ended up crashing it for that very reason. Try this one - it's designed for electric and looks pretty cool too.

The 4120 will work good in your P-51. If you really want to get it haulin then you could go with the 4130.

To get near the same Kv at my prop I’d have to use a E-Flite 60 BL or 4130 – they weigh a lot more than my motor & gearbox!
