Gotta wait for the Magazine to come out. They'd get a bit upset if I scooped myself. ;)

How you doing, My Friend?

Funny how we're back to model airplanes again, eh? It's not a Hobby, it's an ADDICTION!!!!

But ain't it cool to se this forum/thread take off?? Now we need to x-ref this in the glow section to show them what a glow-to-electric can do.

Steve
I go both ways: 4120/18 electric Antic, and OS .52 Surpass 4 stroke glow 4*40

Have the Mini kit and would like to build it for electric conversion. Not an expert on motors so please give me an estimate on brushless electric motor size required. Reviewed the excellent Antic article in the recently received Jan. issue.
Nice work!

Cool! I didn't realise they had come out with a mini version. Looking at the specs on Proctor's website http://www.proctor-enterprises.com/products/antics/micro/micro-antic.htm
A cdrom motor would work, or a fiegao motor in a gws/ips gearbox as would lots of small brushless outrunners. If I were to build it I would go with a cdrom motor. I'll bet the Lensrc 3D wind would work great for this plane http://lensrc.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_27&products_id=41
I have one of these motors and it turns a large prop very well (10x6).

Rick,
I have an original Lew Proctor Mini-Antic kit which has a 56" WS and weighs in at about 4.5 lbs. finished with a .40 glo engine. You are prescribing for a micro version which i didn't know existed until I followed youre supplied link to the present Co. owner's site. So, I would need somethong more than a CD ROM motor! The micro Antic sure looks interesting.

Yes, you would definitely need more than a cdrom motor! Sorry but my post was a reply to flicka5 who mentioned that he had a mini kit.
