This fly in is at the field South of the Edgerton/Balwin field. The article in the Ottowa paper says “fliers can bring whatever they want, if they bring it they can fly it. . . .Airplanes . . . ranging from high speed jets to light creations powered by electric motors.”
I plan to bring my Surprise and if I can get a battery pack to stay together show what a “light creation powered by an electric motor" is really like. I think we should also bring a few gliders and a winch along with our electrics and see if they count as, “If you bring it you can fly it.” I would like to get to know these guys and this looks like a fun way to do it. There is a $20.00 landing fee which would be a good way to support their club and includes lunch.
Directions to the field are I-35 South, take LeLoup exit, north on Tennessee Rd. go one-third mile east Shawnee Rd, North on Tennessee then turn East on Stafford Rd and drive ½ mile. Signs will be posted along the way.
