Models he said...

Those things are huge!

I would have to get a divorce and a bigger house, if I were to bid on one of those...

Regards, Jan.

P.S.: now I definitely have to see the movie...

Great ! Anybody know if they were R/C or even powered ? Hope they go to modellers group and they can do battles scenes. An opening for somebody to make a penny or two doing what they love. The model aircraft guys could be included for bombing and strafing runs etc. like the old Byrons event but mobile, going round shows and regattas.

Looks like two Tone class, and Ise class and some typical destroyer model, all for the Japanese Navy.

I don't believe any of the original models were RC. Most likely they were sound stage models towed, or stationary with water pumped up against the bows to simulate movement in a wave pool.

even so, at those dimensions, you would need a tractor - trailer outfit just to haul them. I have seen SMALLER CANAL NARROWBOATS on the UK canal network

I remember when these first went on sale after the movie. Many of them were actually powered models. Look at the stern shot of the cruiser. That is NOT a scale prop and shaft!

Good eye Jeno I caught the same thing . I would think they would like the water churning at the stern in a scale fashion .
