Hello everyone. Just here to let everyone know of the NEW innovations from rcskydiving.com. We have recently just release a new style parachute that will penetrate winds to 10 mph very well. This chute has dacron lines and a working slider for near perfect operation everytime. We have also come up with a new chute pack that packs much easier, looks great , and works perfect. Also We will be selling a "Elite" series skydiver really soon. He will come with our best chute, new chute pack, and all the belts and buckles of a real skydiver. These skydivers will be available in time for a great christmas present. If you have any questions about any of these products, feel free to contact me at naylor540@alltel.net or go through the website at www.rcskydiving.com. Thank you, Dave Naylor

Hi Dave!
Nice products! The elite chute with stabilizers between each rib is really gorgeous...
I'm new to R/C skydiving and I've been discovering it and related
maufacturers in the last few days... needless to say I got excited about the idea and wish to... dive into it!
I need some suggestions tough... what's the best way to get involved? What's the best jumper to start with? What do I have to consider while purchasing? Honestly speaking I didn't find too many infos on your site... could you be of help?
Thanks in advance, I'll have more questions...

hello,
I beleave the best skydiver to start with is our "standard" series. These are the easiest to learn to pack and have great sucess with. Plus they are the cheapest in case its something you really don't like. The Elite skydivers are nice and not much more difucult to pack or use. They just have alot more work involved therefore more money. Alls you need is a good 40 or a 60 size trainer with adequate power. The standard through the Elite is the same machanics inside. The chutes are slightly differant though. We sell drop boxs to hook to the bottom of the plane or you can make something up.
All and all, everyone of our jumpers come woith a complete colored manual on how to install radio, pack the chute, and how to have good success at the whole hobby.
You will need 2- HS 77 Hitec servos, 1- HS 81 servo, 1- Hitec 555 receiver (or equivalent), 4.8 volt battery, switch harness, plus a transmitter that has 2 sticks that move in the same direction (most likely a cheap 4 channel). Everything else comes in skydiver package.
Any other questions feel free to email me anytime, or give me a call, all contact info can be found on the website.

All you need is a good 40 or a 60 size trainer with adequate power.I own an advanced trainer that I'd like to convert. With a Super Tigre .45 in the nose it is overpowered for standard flying but it could be just right to handle this task. What's the weight of your jumper?
Do you think I can fit one of your dropboxes under the main gear (I need some dimensions)?

I could use the 3 bolts that join the gear to the fuse:

Ground clearance is about 5"... is it enough? But I need to fit the box between the legs so I'd probably need another shape of undercarriage... -parabolic- instead of trapezoidal?!

The standard through the Elite is the same machanics inside. The chutes are slightly differant though. So I can still fly the basic jumper with upgraded 'chutes in case I want to?
Does any of your chute employ a pilot 'chute for worry-free main deployment? I saw solomon R/C jumpers do and it adds to realism too.
What' s the slider? What is it useful for? IOW, what is missing with chutes that lack it?
Any other questions feel free to email me anytime, or give me a call, all contact info can be found on the website. Thanks again Dave, I'm just doing it in here so everyone will a have a reference if interested.

OK, I will try to answer all of your questions the best I can put it into words.
I beleave that plan would be suficient, Flat bottom airfoil would be better but I beleave it would get the task done.
The jumpers are 3 lbs or so, ready to jump.
I beleave 5" ground clearance is right on the edge for being enough. When the skydiver is packed up and into the dropbox correctly it is 4-1/2". Maybe you could go with some bigger "light series" wheels.
The dropbox dimensions are 4" wide and 6" long. You will need a seperate channel to run the release servo on the dropbox.
As far as mixing and matching skydivers and parachutes, any skydiver will work with any chute. I will customize a package for whatever the customer wants. Just contact me in advance and I can quote you a price.
We do not use drag chute for a couple of reasons:
1- We don't need them to make the chute open properly.
2- Just more things to get tangled up during opening.
most times people use drag chutes to overcome the chute not leaving the chute pack, we fixed the problem without adding hassle.
The "slider" is the piece that keeps the strings seperated that you see right above a skydivers head when the chute is open. The intent of this slider in full scale skydiving is to make the chute open slower so it doesn't rip the pilots head off while opening. R/C skyiders don't need it for that reason, but what we have found is it tend to reduce the % of tangled lines. The reason we don't install this on our beginner chutes:
1- It makes 1 more thing to get packed correctly so the chute opens.
2- The lines on the beginner chute are made differant and would not let the slider work properly.
ALL of our chutes HAVE sliders, the beginner chutes are fixed in one possition and DON'T actual slide.
I hope I have answered your questions as well as other peoples. This sport is farely new to most people, so we are trying to get people aware of its existance. It really is a blast and is catching on more every year.
I attended the Skydive Ralley at the AMA field this year in Muncie, Indiana. We had a blast, you will never meet a better group of guys to fly with. So many differant ideas were there, some worked and some didn't. I beleave we had about 35 men and women skydiver pilots in attendance.
