Well I have just ordered Aerofly Pro with an adapter for my JR radio. I will let you know how it turns out

I have used the full version of Aerofly and the demo of Reflex XTR. I would say that the graphics look better on Reflex and also the flying physics looks better to. :)

Where can I get the Reflex XTR demo? Download from the reflex site?

Try this link.

http://www.reflex-sim.dyndns.org/reflex-sim/shop/catalog/default.php?cPath=23&osCsid=ea18aaf26774b4773e302ee673de0af6

You have to create an account. They will send you a password by email (this took about 20 minutes). Once you get that you can download the demo for free.

It's pretty simple actually.... The graphics on Reflex are definately better than AFPD (the backgrounds are the same, just photos, but the models themselves look cartoonish in AFPD and realistic in Reflex)... But hopefully your not buying a sim for it's graphics... Your buying it for it's realism... I've owned them ALL.. G2, G3, AFPD, Reflex, and yes I've used FMS and some of the others too... When you get down to it, I can honestly only recommend 2 of all I've tried... AFPD and Reflex... As for which one, it's easy... What are you interested in? If your even remotely interested in the Heli's, then it's Reflex hands down.... AFPD is a joke when it comes to helis... The heli's out of the box fly about as realistic a feather. It took me 3 solid days of tuning on the Raptor to get it even CLOSE to the real thing, and even then it was far from it. There isn't even a display that shows what your current pitch is... So you can't even set your pitch curves correctly, you have to "guess" at them... I asked for months about getting that feature added in but to no avail. Reflex is a whole different ballgame when it comes to heli's. If you set it up correctly, they fly ultra-realistically. If your looking for something to practice 3D with airplanes, AFPD is by far the winner. If your talking about just general flying around, pattern aerobatics, etc... Once again Reflex takes the cake...

If you have any questions about either let me know, I'll be glad to answer.

Reflex xtr is great ,except that is has this really annoying red bars and flight freezes if you fly out of bounds.Al.

The only thing I don't like about Reflex is the planes fly too well dead-stick. I can do two full circuits at zero throttle. Anyone know how to make a dead stick plane lose altitude faster? I've played with all the settings and nothing seems to fix the problem.

tridim,

Edit the parameters and add some weight that will make it come down quicker.

Andy.

AFPD is by far the more accurate sim for aircraft. I checked it out with the shock flyer yak which I also had th ereal version of. It was so close that I found myself making exactly the same mistakes in real life as on the sim. After practicing rolling harriers on the sim I am now able to do it on my Shocky.

Also the other models fly very close to their real life counterparts.

I would agree that it may not accuratley support helicopters, if it did then I could now class myself as a pretty good copter pilot as I can do most things on the sim.....I bet I couldnt with a real one.

I tried Reflex in the local Hobby shop and didnt feel it had very realistic fliight pysics. Although both of these sims are far better than G2 or G3

Have you guys heard about or tried a newer sim called Phoenix RC from UK? Heard that it also got rave reviews & some claim it can par also with top sims like Reflex XTR and/or AeroFly Professional Deluxe in terms of physics & realism? So how does it fare out (particularly on helis)? Any comments?
