I just picked up (downloaded actually) a copy of ClearView 4.10, and currently have a wireless game-pad that has 2 sticks....little thumb sticks actually....

Is there an inexpensive alternative to this, that better simulates a real controller?

Any of the USB - RC interfaces on the market will allow you to connect your normal TX to your PC and thus use the simulator as a true training tool.

Well, I don't have a transmitter yet, so was looking for a good USB controller.....my planes are the Firebird commander 2's for now, until my boys (and myself) get a bit better........ :D

Some guys have put little sticks on the gamepad "nubbins".

I actually was thinking of that......if i got a cheap USB controller, and modified the gamepad "nubbins"...

Perhaps drill a small hole in each, and insert\glue a small dowel, or plastic rod?

I think if you search this forum you'll find some pics of the mod. IIRC, it wasa couple of plastic caps (like from small plastic bottles) with little control sticks screwed intot them. They were a friction fit over the nubbins.

That looks kinda like it would work.....but I really don't mind buying a controller for 10$, and modifying it......

I'm thinking I'd like a actual radio case, as it would be more realistic.....

I guess I could also find a cheap used radio on ebay, and get a connector cable

Stuff the gamepad guts into a dead tx controller case?
