Hi all,

I am building a rudder, elevator, throttle sport model for relaxed flying and also to serve as a camera platform. The wing span will probably be 60", with wing loading less than 6 ounces per square foot without a camera.

I am considering a polyhedral wing. What are appropriate angles to achieve stable and responsive flight? What are the guidelines regarding length of the inner versus outer panels?

I'm thinking of 20" inner panels, and 10" long tapered outer panels, with each inner panel at about 2 degrees to the horizon, and the outer panels at about 12 degrees. That results in over 5 degrees from centerline to tip. Does that sound reasonable?

Thanks in advance,
-Bob

Yes.
Poly is a very good choice.
I've changed a few straight dihedral wings to poly and gotten extremely improved response and stability.

The break lines and angles you are thinking of are reasonable... other aspects (than what you have specified) could make it need a bit more or less. But it should fly and have decent yaw-roll (more coupling = getting into banks quicker since you plan to have no ailerons..) coupling with a typical shoulder mount to the fuselage... and appropriate fin/rudder areas.

This one is very stable, insists on upright flight, quick stall recovery, nice turns.
