Using JR tx with FMS question

I read somewhere (RCGroups?), that the crystal should be removed from a JR tx when using it with a flight sim. Any truth? Thanks.

For JR transmitters, you do not need to take out the crystal.

With the tx switched off, the display/LEDs will power up when the interface is plugged into the tx. The transmitting part of the tx will still be switched off.

Just remember not to switch on the power button of the tx.
