Hi,
which of the available simulars allows a look from inside the plane or
helicopter as if you were flying the real thing ? As far as I can tell most
only allow a view from you standing on the ground with your tranmitter and
the plane far away.

You have a point but why not have both instead of only the ground point of
view ? Are you never jealous of the view that your model has there, high in
the sky ? I would !

Flying from the cockpit on G2 is a diversion when you've had enough of
practice, but the novelty soon wares off.
If you want to see what your heli sees, put a camera on your heli.

There used to be a model sim with that camera. I think it was
called"Skylark" or some such. Crap graphics, but quite entertaining.

I used to have a copy of that Skylark sim. Hacked up an old
transmitter and cobbled up my own PAL chip to make it work. Horrible
graphics compared to today's stuff, but for 1992 technology, it wasn't
too bad. Helped me learn to hover...

Ya know Beav,
I gotta agree totaly....
Function and logic are wonderful but only get you so far...usualy it is
enough. But sometimes you just gotta have fun.
Case in point:
Hasselblad vs. Mamiya (pro photo cameras)
The Hasselblad is PERFECT. Literaly. It is a german made machine that is
both handcrafted and laser/computer tuned. There is NO finer optics
available to the civilian public. The pricetag also fits such a
beauty...about $15k for thebody alone. Problem is..Hasselblad have absolutly
no frills. It is a pros camera. If you need fun little frills you aren't
ready for a Hass.
On the other hand the Mamiya is loaded almost to the point of humor with fun
little gagets (depending on the model you buy). It is a wonderful camera
even for pro commercial work. It just isnt anywhere near the Hasselblad. It
is DAMN fun to shoot with though. Lightweight and agile even on a tripod.
Plus at a price tag of just over $2.5k for a decent Mamiya body it is in the
price range of most private photography enthusiasts who make it as far as
medium format.
Ok so this is WAY off topic but my rant wouldn't stayput.

Kevin,
The name "Scouser" is given to someone who comes from Liverpool UK (where
the Beatles came from by the way).
It can be used in a derogatory manner, as Scousers have been stereotyped by
the media as lazy, dishonest, drug taking, thieving etc.
Beavis is proud of living in Lancashire, "up-north". Calling him a Scouser
might be taken as a bit of an insult.
As for "WITH A DEAD GINGER TOM-CAT ON HIS HEAD"
http://www.dexigner.com/images/content/news/3135.jpg
For some unknown reason, I always imagined Beavis as being bald as a
cue-ball (I think I saw a slap head on his website a long time ago and
assumed it was him).
He always maintained he had a thick plume of hair, so I imagined that he
wears a bright ginger toupee, a bit like Donald Trumpf.
Now Beavis will probably tell you I'm a sourvern poof that drinks german
fizzy lemonade.
I hope you have been suitably enlightened, and welcome to the world of
north/south abuse exchange.

Bald? Until a few weeks ago, I had hair down to my shoulders and not a shiny
bit in sight. Now that I've removed it, there's STILL not a bald spot in
sight. I have a LOVELY head of hair.

OK, I *THOUGHT* that might have been a reference to some type of "hair
replacement system", but then I remembered I'm trying to decipher
"English" and figured it might be something toally different.

You can change the camera angle in Real Flight G3 to view the flight from
the cockpit. I do it once in a while but it really doesn't help you to
become a better RC pilot.
If you are looking for a good "free" flight sim try warbirds. They have
great planes and the models are very well researched. Give it a try.The
only bad thing about it is, it is a very large download but worth the time.
