Arrow 5,

Since the event took place in Bavaria and the participants came from, among others, from Germany, what about a German perspective?

Wonder if it was covered on a German website ? I thought the University of Florida(?) and the Maryland University(?) and the Canadian (?) team would perhaps read this forum. The main sponsor was American. Guest of honour and main speaker was long time modeller and man-powered aircraft guru Don McCready. No results posted by organisers either. Curious. Entschuldigen Sie, ich halbe kein Deutsch.

Arrow 5,

What is your interest in this event?

The American sponsor was the European Research Office.

The German co-sponsor was the DLR- Germany's Center for Aeronautics and Astronautics. The event was covered their Website (by the way, in English).

I didn't want to insult you with my post. As you might recognised until now, English is not my fist language. I just wanted to point out that teams from other countries took part.

The "grand winner" (threre were several prizes) was the University of Florida with a kevlar based fixed wing.

What additional information do you need?

I didnt notice any insult, I`m sure you intended none. The fact that RCGroups is mainly American based forum led me to believe that some of the American participants might have let us know of their experiences there. I dont speak German so dont surf German sites. My interest is aerial photography from RPVs (model aircraft) and my son lives in Garmisch-Partenkirchen so guess what dates I took my annual holiday in Bavaria ! I have found one English speaking site that gives good coverage. http://aero.land.free.fr/aeromav/aero-mav-garmisch-de.htm I found it in the "Indoor and Micro" Pages right here on RCGroups ! Glad Florida Uni got a prize, I spotted a winner almost immeadiatly on arrival at flying site...Have you got a link to the DLR website ?...EDIT: I have found the correct address to the French site and removed error, check it above again.

Arrow 5,

The event website doesn't work anymore. I will be in my office next week. I can send you some additional information.

That would be good of you Aviation, thanks. I`ll do a Google search for that French site, maybe I got the address wrong. It is pretty comprehensive coverage and they are offreing a CD of the proceedings . It also had the lectures and other presentations which I`d like to read. Thanks for your help, Dankeschon. EDIT ; try this http://aero.land.free.fr/aeromav/aero-mav-garmisch-de.htm

Just a Note. There were multiple grants awarded at the competition. Second Prize went to Martin Mueller and team, a privately funded project out of Germany. The grand prize went to the team from Arizona.

Thanks Anton, good effort to all concerned. Yes I think a couple more pictures might be worthwhile and anything else you might think is of interest. Cheers.
