Hi folks...
I have a little brushless motor from a Computer CD drive. Its what spun the CD. Would it work for an RC applcation? What size ESC should i use, and also the three wires coming off the coils are soldered to a pc bord can you just cut them and connect to an ESC?
Any help would be welcomed. It could save me a few dollers.

Yes, it works :). That's what people call CDROM motor. Tons of threads about it.
You need to detach the stator and get access to the wires. You will have 3 wires. I thin they are Y connected together. You can then just hook it to any brushess controller. http://coolesc.com/ has pretty good price for BL controller. To get more power from that motor, you will need to replace the magnet rings and rewound the wires with bigger wires. Different number of turns have different power. Also check out gobrushless.com

ps. check out the power forum.

"You can then just hook it to any brushess controller."
