Hi,
I'm actually into R/c submarines not boats, but have to make a hull. It will
be made out of GRP but how do I get the shape?
I thought:
Get template of cross section along the sub
Cut them in half
mount onto a board then fill in between with foam
Cut with hotwire
Cover in duct tape (mould release)
Glass
Now how do you guys do it?

Paper-scale approach:
Build carton-reinforced skeleton, take the thinnest available glassfiber-mat
and drape it over, pull it tight and staple it on the upper side, then dip
the stuff into the glue.
Your way sounds WAY better, and I will adopt it over mine "traditional" one.
