That is NOT a UAV. That is a Chinese made "Wing Dragon", very cheap and barely able to fly under its own power. That plane has an incredibly cheap radio that will not control the it past a range of 300 feet

That plane barely functions as a childs toy :( ... Only an :censored: would call that a UAV

It would seem that the Pakistani army may disagree with you on that one.

"This, said the commander, was a Chinese-made, remote-controlled spy plane which had been used by militants to spy on army positions."

So you take as fact everything you read patrickgan... And you beleive the pakastani army is an expert on UAV's ? Here is an excerpt from the article you place so much credibility in...

"Several journalists asked how such a flimsy looking thing could carry a camera?

Not just a camera was the response from one general.

This plane could be used to drop up to one kilogram of explosives. "

Since when can a 650 grahm cheaply made chineese toy drop 1 KG of explosives ??? Have you ever flown RC patrickgen ?? I ask because your willingness to beleive that a wing dragon can carry AND DROP pounds of explosives this tells me that you know nothing about small RC planes, and even less about "UAV's"

This is old news here, check this thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=416207

In Gulf War (1990) computers are a mistery for most people, some news channels noticed that USA disabled the radars and scud missiles of Iraqi by sending then a computer virus inside a french dot-matrix printer!!! One of then showed a small bug walking on a circuit board!!!

It is very easy to get some points of audience or to fill 1 hour of TV news by just saying any crazy fact about things most people don't know well. Today's reporters don't care to check the information before spread it.

They are so busy trying to get some fresh news before the others that just spread it.

A good proof is that is very common to internet hoax come to news...

Jett-

The whole wing dragon being part of the weapon’s cache thing I thought was funny and or ridiculous especially the kilo of explosives. But on the other hand the word is out and it looks like “Hodgie” is on to us. We have teams overseas that are purchasing ARF’s from known vendors mounting wireless camera’s on them and using them for recon.
