Thanks guys for the good wishes, we have some interested from the model flying club I belong to so at least we have a start, and having gained permissions to use a very nice little lake nearby we are up and running.
I really started this group (SABM) because I am afraid that travelling 1 1/2 hours one way to the well established club in Milwaukee would take the fun out of it for me. Hailing from England I was used to the idea of most little towns having their own model boat club, so I guess I am like a spoiled kid and want to play near home :) But I don't see why the idea of lots of small clubs instead of one large all embracing one shouldn't work here in the midwest too. Population density will have it's effect I know... but hey... it's worth a try.
All it takes is a few sailors, a few models and fun will happen.

Good for you guys.
We need more clubs for R/C in Wisconsin.
I live in Mosinee, WI 10 min South of Wausau about 2 hrs West of Sheboygan. My friend lives in Sheb. though. When I come to visit him I'll have to toss some of my stuff into the car and run at your pond.

Great idea hpiguy, you will be most welcome to join us anytime. If you join our Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sabm/ that will keep you up to date with developments.
I am getting great support from the president of the Wisconsin Scale Boating Association based in Milwaukee too now which is very encouraging for us.
