Just got my first electric boat to push in the stalled nitro boats (boy am I tired of the row boat retreve. Its a vac-u-tug jr boat and only draws .45 amp @ wot. Uses 385 stock johnson motor and 7.2v 1500 mah battery. The speed control has holes but no metal protruding fins. Should I ballon it or wrap in plastic to protect from water or will it get too hot? thanks , Mike :)

I wouldn't normally recommend balloon wrapping an esc but 0.45 amp isn't going to produce much heat, even when pushing your stalled i/c boat.

Mike,
No real need to stuff the ESC in a baloon. The Vac-U-Tug very seldom gets enough water in it to cause problems (unless you've forgotten something!). If you're going to use the boat for retrieval, take a look at the 'Towboat', does much better! Same basic power options, but go for the motor/prop "upgrade".
