This one's for Dave S

Here are a few pics of the first set up with the club 20 'shark' which ran the OPS21 engine. Our local club has very low db sound rating and the only option was to go 'e'. It's a steep learning curve but this should fly, how well or how fast only time will tell.

I am looking for a good pylon pilot in the Hampshire area to test fly this, so if you have any contacts it would be good to hear! :D

Any of you electric pylon guys out there have any tips or ideas for mods to the current set up then please ley me know. Currently it runs a Mega 22/20/3 via a Jeti 40A SC, Shultz receiver and a Thunder Power 4200 (11.1v) LiPo.

Weight comes out around the 3lb, which is a little heavier than the original IC plane. On some recent power tests it is pulling 43A at full power which shows around 460Wp (9x7apc).

Happy Days

Marc.

We thought about trying that here but the Club 20 airframe is really a bit heavy and a bit draggy. Instead, for sport electric racing we're using F5D airframes with a Mega 16/15/2 and 8 cells for about the same speed as a Club 20.

Looks like a fun plane. Probably won't be very fast. You may want to increase the voltage and decrease the prop size. Thunder power is making
4s 1p and 5s 1p prolite packs. your amp draw will be less and your pich speed will be higher. I am using a 22/30/3 on 6s 1p with a 7x5E prop pulls about 30 amps and is very fast. some guys were using 6s 2p with a 7x7 and there planes were flying over 140 mph.
