Ok, I've made an executive decision. We will be launching a new sailplane webzine sometime in the next few months.
I have a couple of ideas for the name, but I thought I would open it up for suggestions as well. Obviously, I'm looking for something more original than "The S Zone". :)

Okay, I admit its just one step away from "S Zone," but I don't think "The Soaring Zone" is too bad.

Thats good also. I do think whatever the name is that it should have "Zone" on the end of it to show it is an offspring of the E-Zone.

How about the O-Zone as that is what we are always trying to reach?;)

Simple, to the point; Sailplane Zone. Or, SoarZone (one word).
Good luck

Soar Zone.... I like it...
Soar as in glide, and soar as in neck, or Arm, back...
that's my vote...

Soaring zone is my favorite so far. I am not so fond of soar zone because it doesn't ring as nicely to me (sorry Steve!)

How about "The Lift Zone"? Whether it's slope or thermal that's what we're all looking for.

I like my Avatar name ... "Silent Majority". Plus it would probably cause Dereck to go off the deep end.

I agree with Adam - it should have "Zone" to tie it together with E Zone.
My personal favorite is The Sailplane Zone. It clearly defines what the web zine is about.
I like these:
Sailplane Zone
S Zone
Soaring Zone
Soar Zone
Without "Zone"
Glider Guiders
Silent Flight
CloudBusters

Without a doubt the funniest thing I have read all week! Your post just made my day!
I think the site should definitely retain the word Zone. I think SoarZone is the best "zone" suggestion so far.
I cant wait for the webzine!

Sorry to be a detractor, but SoarZone sort'a sounds like a rash or something. Er, now that I’ve put my foot in it…“ThermalZone” ?

It's nice we have so many suggestions for a name but I'd like to hear if any progress is being made on the actual webzine?

We are still planning things out. We have a tenative launch date but aren't ready to announce it yet. We need time to construct a gameplan, contact vendors for review material, line up columnists, etc.
