Hi Mike,

We are expacting to have this ready in the beginning of Nov.

We will have the airplane for display during the show.
http://www.ihobbyexpo.com/

I may ask our RD to set it up as a 3D airplane for indoor demo.

This airplane was not meant to be 3D but does with the ability to fly 3D.

I'm not interested in the significant shipping charges for Early Bird. I want this out in general release. I will wait for November.

Ray

Normally I would just chuckle to myslef and say by the time the GWS P-40 arrives Ill be to old to fly it. But what exactly does your quoted statment mean? The way I read it GWS is producing a larger P-40??

Thank You

We were supposed to P40 around this time.

After testing Formosa II, we changed the plan. We will not release regular P40 in the size like GWS war bird.

Our RD is working on ( scale up ) the bigger P-40.

Not producing at this moment.... they are re-fine the design of the P40.

just scale up the airplane by the computer ----- not good enough to be ready to create the mold.

Wow that is really too bad. I was so looking forward to it.

While it's sad there will be no P-40 I am HAPPY to hear GWS would consider a larger Warbird.

Parkzone, and now E-Flite have proven people want larger warbirds. With power levels going up every day, and cost per watt going down it's only natural.

Warbirds somewhere between the 39" and 50" models <Sure Flite has the 50"ers> are a very welcome site.

Best of Luck GWS!!!

Hi all,

what do you think if we have a big P40 with wider aileron?

almost 50%

Is that a good or bad idea?

any suggestion is appreciated.

Bad idea - why do you want a bigger aileron? Don't make everything 3d - especially your scale ships. Just no reason for it and it will detract from the scale look.

No!
I'm a bit disappointed that F-II is set up this way. From Kensp's report in the GWS forum, it seems to behave OK. But I certainly don't want to 3D a semi-scale warbird. But maybe its a cultural thing - could be this would be big (laugh / ironic) in Asia, whereas in the US/EU it would just seem daft. Of course, you could always do 2 wings for the same plane to cover that (or maybe, with some inventive engineering, provide the option of both in the same foam wing).

Hi Isvana,

We got suggestion from flyers about this matter. However, I think yours is the best.

From what I saw here, scale look is more important.

same foam wing with both option is better.

Thank you very much.

We welcome and appreciate flyers input.

I am one that does not like the 3D spin on every plane released recently. I have waited forever for the Formosa II and when I saw the exaggerated control surfaces I was immediately disappointed. The Mosa was one of my favorite birds and I love the big pattern lines it draws in the sky. Keep the 3D thing but please limit it to the planes designed for 3D. The Mosa is a wonderful pattern plane and that is what I would be purchasing it for.
Definitely not on any warbirds!

Cheers
Bill

I saw the Formosa II at Ihobby expo in Anaheim a few weeks ago, and I am surprised that GWS has kept the same weak and bendable wire landing gear as the original Formosa. It was marginal to weak on the original, and they think it can support even more weight with the II? The display Formosa II was sagging big time sitting there on exhibit. And that was without all of the gear installed!

My request to GWS is to please sell the Formosa II with some much stronger wire landing gear!

Thanks!

Better yet move the gear forward to the fuse to keep it from tipping on landings. If I get one it will have a CF or aluminum gear mounted in front of the wing.

Interesting video Ray but 61 MB for a 4 minute video is huge. Might want to save at a less memory intensive setting. The guys with dial-up will never see it. Hope all is well with you, your big brother (But not as big). Mike
