The ultimate ARF for extreme aerobatics!
Everything today's R/C pilot values most is right here in Great Planes'
Ultimate Bipe 1.60 ARF. Quality construction includes select woods, painted
fiberglass parts and genuine MonoKote® covering. This aircraft also offers
ARF assembly, flight-line convenience, and a wide spectrum of performance *
ranging from relaxing Sunday sport flying to over-the-top aerobatics. All
this, in a big, IMAA-legal 65" wingspan biplane that looks as good as it
flies!
* Expertly engineered, lightweight construction provides excellent
power-to-weight ratio for outstanding 3D performance.
* Each of the four ailerons is actuated by its own servo for maximum
maneuvering muscle.
* Light, strong, airfoil-shaped landing gear resists spreading during
not-so-great landings.
* Included is a spinner and complete hardware that has been
custom-engineered for giant scale.
In as little as 20 hours, the Ultimate Bipe 1.60 ARF can be ready for the
field. Strategic use of reinforcements and lightening holes in the primary
wood structures help to minimize weight without compromising the model's
strength.
* Wingspan: 65 in (1650mm)
* Wing Area: 1446 sq in (93dm˛)
* Weight: 12.5 lb (5.67kg)
* Wing Loading: 20 oz/sq in (61g/dm˛)
* Length: 72 in (1830mm)
* Requires: 1.60 cu in (26cc) glow or up to 50cc gasoline engine, 4-7
channel radio w/8-9 servos
Special fittings that mount in the stabilizers make it easy to achieve
proper flying wire tension. After threading the wire through the fitting,
you just tighten a set screw to lock it in place * avoiding the difficulty
of cutting wire to a "just right" length.
Wing attachment requires no special tools and prevents losing screws. Two
thumbscrews are permanently installed in the top and bottom of each strut.
To secure the wing panels in place, modelers simply insert the strut and
turn its built-in thumbscrews.
The O.S.® 1.60 FX makes an ideal engine for the Ultimate Bipe 1.60 ARF. Its
power-to-weight ratio is almost 3 times that of 41cc gas or multi-cylinder
engines, and the low-profile crankcase simplifies in-cowl installation.
