When you rewind a CD-Rom motor I've read that a good starting point is 18 turns...
Does this mean 18 turns on each pole or 18 turn on the 3 poles?
I have a stator with 9 poles
Thanks in advance

18 turns on each pole.
There is more info on CDROM motors than you could ever read in the Power Systems forum here.
An excellent tutorial can be found here. (http://www.gobrushless.com/GBL_single_v2.pdf)
enjoy!

As Brian said, plenty of cd-rom discussion in the 'power systems' subforum, you'll get more response there:
