Luke,

"I see: if you have two differential transducers, the static port of both will be common, and the "pitot" or dynamic pressure ports of both will go to the upper or lower taps of your AOA/airspeed sensor, is that right?"

Thats more or less it. I'm not sure if I want to have two differential sensors to also measure air speed or just use one and measure just the AOA.

Does this in any way degrade the accuracy of the airspeed measurement? Especially perhaps at extreme angles of attack? (I guess even a traditional airspeed pitot tube would give erroneous readings at extreme AOA though...)

Not sure. I guess I'm gonna have to experiment. :D

"In my mind I figured I would just use a vane"

I tried using a vane. Couldn't get the resolution and stabilty I wanted. Also, since I want to use this in a small UAV (~24" WS) making the vane small enough to overcome the bearing friction would be a problem.

Next step. Get some transducers to play with.
