102511,

Open the hood of the serial plug. If it doesn't have any electronics inside (just 4 straight wires soldered to some of the plug's pins), you've got a "dumb" cable, which only works with Zhen Hua transmitters. Walkera used to make Zhen Huz compatible transmitters, but #35 TX was never among them.

So, if you've got such a "dumb" cable, there's no way to make it work... Search this forum--your question was discussed many times! Then, google "Walkera interface" and buy one.

Borris,

As people are too lazy to search the forum or open up similar threads a few posts down, maybe you should cut and paste all your replies on this subject and make an FAQ type post and get the Mods to make it a sticky as this question concerning these Walkera and other non standard TX's come up time and time again. - It would stop you having to repeat yourself time and time again.

Malc,

I don't think people are too lazy--they are simply overwhelmed with all the information... I'm a seasoned fixed-wing pilot, but when I decided to get into helicopters, I was totally lost with all these new terms like CCPM, collective, throttle-pitch mixing, etc. :)

I like your FAQ idea! If the moderator doesn't like my info, I can post it on my Web site and just post a link to it.

i did see that there is a post that has the exact same settup/problem as me but nothing is solved in that post. i found 3 walkers interfaces but do they work? i dont know alot about computers/radios so if there is a specific web site with a cable could you point me to that sells a working cable.

102511,

www.milehighwings.com sells Serial PIC interfaces for Walkera 35, among other models.
I've tested this cable with Walkera #35 myself and it indeed works with FMS (and a couple of other sims, which offer native support of FMS Serial PIC protocol):

thanks. why did walkera bother to send a cable with the heli if it doesnt work?

Older Walkera transmitters used to implement Zhen Hua protocol and used to work with 4-wire "dumb" cables. I have an older (1...2 year old?) 4-channel Walkera TX, which, from the outside, is indistinguishable from the new 6-ch models--same plastic case and even the (un-used) switches on top. That old TX indeed works with 4-wire cable, while seemingly identical newer transmitters don't.
Probably, whoever assembles the package (may be it's even done by vendor and not by the mabufacturer) is unaware about these differences...
