Nice pictures Jeff! Thanks for sharing! Next time I'm up in the S.F. bay area, I will have to take some pictures of some 'salties' for you! Somebody should start a thread building one of those Great Lakes freighters. Impressive ships! :)

Somebody should start a thread building one of those Great Lakes freighters. Impressive ships! Here's the requested build thread. (http://greatlakesmodeling.com/tips/footer/footer_intro.htm) Lots of useful info at the Great Lakes Modeling Association (http://greatlakesmodeling.com/index.htm) and Boatnerd (http://www.boatnerd.com/).

Is any list of Great Lakes ships complete without the Edmond Fitzgerald? Does any one know of any models of this one?

Go to Boatnerd.com, click links - model building - modeling supplies - Carrs Hobbies (http://www.cpinternet.com/~carrs/shipscus.htm) for a FITZ kit, or Bearco Marine (http://www.bearcomarine.com/products.htm) for a semi-scale FITZ kit. The Iron Shipwright (http://www.commanderseries.com/ships.htm) makes two resin kits of the FITZ, 1:350 scale (http://www.commanderseries.com/pages/Edmund_350.htm) (about 2 feet long) and 1:700 scale (http://www.steelnavy.com/images/scans/Edmund03.jpg) (about 1 foot long).
