It's really cool. But the new scenery is kinda dark, had to turn up my brightness a bit.
Tried to fly a heli on the cliff and it was quite interesting. Always wanted to do that.

I've tried it too, and found the same. Wonder why Reflex did that. It fits the picture of a deserted beach, static occupants would look silly indeed. Or maybe the sunlight coming from the horizon gives you better "space awareness" of where you are when flying high. I found it difficult too stay in the lift in front of the cliffs, until I started noticing the sunlight.

go to c:\program files\reflex\umwelt\wlp\rotes Kliff (Kampen Sylt) and open the S2.jpg in f.e. Photshop or any other pixel editing program. Play a little with light and contrast and safe the file if you feel comfortable with the results.
In most cases, the colour temperature of modern flat screens is not adjusted nicely to the surrounding light. Try changing your screen gamma to another value and check the results with the unmodified files first.

I did that, and it worked. Now I am not happy with the result, and I want to get the old background picture back (of which I saved a copy first ofcourse).
Simply deleting the modified picture and replacing it with the original won't work, even though I made sure it has the correct name S2.jpg. Restarting the program or the computer does not help. I tried to reinstall version 5.02, but the installer recognizes that I have that version installed already, and refuses to install it again. Now what?!
Max.
I found the solution: delete all ~S2-8*.dds files from the same folder. On starting Reflex, these files will be regenerated from the S2.jpg picture file.

The Sx.jpg or .bmp are needed initially only. The ~-files are the ones generated for your personal resolution setting. These files are generated if the scenery is selected the first time or if you change the panorama resolution settings.

That leaves the question why changing the picture worked in the first place, since I did not change the resolution setting?

While enjoying myself with the slope soaring extension, for the first time I felt something was missing…
For the first time it was striking that the scenery is static. Most elements of a regular scenery (trees, clouds) are as good as static, but a sea that does not move is odd an unnatural.
In addition, some sound when a glider comes close, would be nice

can you imagine the spec of the computer required if they were able tooffer an animated 3D landscape with waved crashing on the beach !!!
Mind you, having said that I have the excellent submarine game Silent Hunter III, and the sea looks so realistic (as does all the models) I can't see that its wouldn't be that demanding, but it would need a 3D virtual world to be created in Reflex rather than using flat stitched together images.

Try this on a 32 MB budget video card in the resolution required for the Reflex ... but it clearly shows that we may expect a lot more in the years to come!

I know I am enemy territory but Aerofly Pro Deluxe gives you glider sounds.
I have only played with it for a few days but the config files for the aircraft have a line that points to a wav file. In this way you can change an electric sound to something a little more meaty.
If XTR uses something similar for powered aircraft then it might be possible to add a line to a glider's config file I guess. All you would need is an appropriate wav file.

WhiteWidow (http://www.thomashanser.com/) modified a Graupner glider to fly with glider sound. Maybe give it a try to see how it works. On his homepage select HOBBYS - MODELLFLUG SIMULATOREN - select MODELLE and scroll to the updated GRAUPNER glider.

Shame there isn't a way to fly slope combat against others online that would be fun
