Well..
After waiting several months, the company I work for, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. has been awarded a 900 million dollar program to produce 11 UAV Systems over the next 4 1/2 years. This includes about 120 airvehicles, ground stations. ground support equipment, shipping containers, training ...yada yada yada!!!
We were competing against Northrup-Grummin for this program.... and I must admit that the US Taxpayer and our soldiers are the true beneficiaries of this award. Northrup-Grumman doesn't have such a stellar record as of late (Hmmm... B2, Global Hawk... way too expen$ive)...
As a result.... I am looking for about 6 to 8 aerospace/mechanical engineers to help support this effort as well as other Internal Research and Developement programs. I also need some Designers... Pro/Engineer CAD Experiance preferred!!

I work GH, Pred and U2 currently (USAF). Ground station computer security. I'll believe the money for training part when I see it. More capability is way more important than actually knowing how to operate the weapon system.  I have a partner who may be interested and will forward this to him.

PM Sent. I had to shorten it from 3500+ characters down to 3000 so I hope it doesn't sound too choppy. You are one lucky guy! :) :D

Cheers,
Dave

I just want to share my positive feelings - I am really happy to see that you are looking for your candidates here, on RC Groups.
Thank you for that.:)

Lots of talent can be found here, I believe.

Agree totally. There is a tremendous amount of expertise here. Here's to General Atomics bringing us new/better toys to play with.

About time we built a diesel powered UAV. That whole running out of fuel over Iraq concept has got to be painful. Almost, but not quite, as painful as convincing Bosch (the leading supplier of diesel engine controls and fuel systems) it is worthwhile to deal with a military project.

By the way, I just happen to know an excellent diesel engineer ;)

mithrandir,

Are you interested in coop students or summer students at all? I have a couple very qualified undergraduates in my UAV Group at NC State (http://www.ncsu.edu/stud_orgs/ar) who are very interested in professional UAV systems.

I'll echo the others, thanks for posting this here.
