Instead of getting a new Helicopter, I think im going to get a simulator instead. I guess G3 and reflex XTR are the best ones out? I heard the XTR has the best graphics, but the G3 is closer to reality. It this true? What do you guys think of these sims? I want the best one that will help me learn how to fly better and is most like flying in real life. I need to learn nose in and lots more!

my setup: Athlon 2800+, GF6 6800, 512mb ram

I've only done a limited amount of heli flying in Reflex (while not really knowing how to fly helis anyway), so I personally can't vouch for its realism. However, others have commented that it is extremely faithful to reality, some saying it's the best of the heli bunch. I _can_ tell you that the airplane simulation is fantastic, and I'm extremely satisfied with this product. It lives up to it's promises, and its potential. This is the real thing.

I have read that G3 is the best for heli's. I think everyone is going to have a differing opinon on any of them.

In the end I look at it this way. For a hobby such as ours to have 3 great commercial options is amazing. A lot of other hobbies don't have any simulator possibilites. T, I would say get which ever one will work best on your system. They are both great simulators and both will help you. Your best bet if possible would be to try both if you can and pick the one you like the best. Some hobby shops have both set up to test (I know mine does).

With that said I personally like G3 better. I'm not a big fan of the static backgrounds and I really like G3's interactive environments. That was just my preference though.

I don't think it matters much, although I only have limited experience with G3. I do own XTR, and use it for heli practice. Feels pretty close to real life, but of course no sim is ever exactly like the real thing.
