Hi, just want to hear if anyone has done a conversion of Rich Uravich's A-10 that use's 2 - 25's for glow power to electric power. What was done to lighten up the kit, what power systems will work best in this airframe. Also would like to hear about using retract system and best batteries, esc, etc. Thanks for any idea's and of course for your time. :)

Do you know what size fan it calls for? What's the auw?
It will probably take midi fans so you're looking at a couple of good 600 size motors.

I think you're right. One of the the guys just maidened one of the arf kits today. He had 2826/10's but you should be fine with 2820's or Mega 22/20/4's.

Hey, I had the same question….. The answer I got was the MIDI fan (90 mm fan) and a Ball Bearing Motor to turn it like a speed “RACE” 600 with the ball bearings are an improvement over stock motors. Also LI-PO packs to power it… That is what was passed to me. I guess it will depend on how much you want to spend or have already around on what you do…. Frank

This is some of the info I found…. I might suggest www.google.com and type in the model number and see whom might have them. This is not a brushless motor rather they are brushed….. Frank

I checked his site and haven't seen anything about an A-10. I did see his S-3 that's coming out and would like to get one of those though.

I just completed a Rich Uravich OV-10 Bronco as an electric. I had my maiden flight last night. I added an additional bay to each of the wings to give me a span of 57". First flight was straight forward with no trim adjustments required at 1/2 throttle. My landing was hard (need more up elevator throw) and I bend a main gear. Total weight (fully loaded) is 5.75 lb (I used built up formers instead of solid and substituted balsa for ply when I could).

I used 2 Turnigy 3536c 1100kv outrunners driven by 2 Turnigy 40A Plush ESCs. Batteries are FlightMax 2200 3s wired in parallel. Receiver and 7 servos are power by an 800mah 3s lipo through a Turnigy 8-15A UBEC. Props are HobbyCity 11x5.5.

Full throttle draw is 30A on each motor and rpm is 9600.
