Hi all, I've just ordered a rotostart for my Savage (I hate pull starts with
a passion!), but on the box it states the back plate fits Savage .21 .25
and SS, no mention of the K46. I've also seen on the internet that there is
a seperate back plate for the K46. Unfortunately Tower hobbies dont have
any atm, and ebay doesn't have any either (spewing I didn't get the one on
there a couple of weeks ago).

Anyways, my question is why wont the back plate fit?? I would have thought
that the engines are all similar there? Or is it the fact that the K46 has
an internal one way bearing? I'm not sure about the .21 or the .25

Any hints? Do I *need* the K46 back plate, or will the one in the rotostart
kit fit? (It arrives next week)

Cheers Dre

Righto! (replying to myself, first sign of madness :)

I've managed to locate a K46 back plate in Oz (same place that I'm getting
the rotostart from actually, he had one hidden away :) but I need to know if
I actually need it before I pay the hard earned. I'm about to go check the
HPI forums, but hopefully someone here knows off hand...

Thanks all

Cheers Dre

Okay, replying to myself again.

No go on the HPI forums, but I've managed to find out anyway. Nitrostar and
K series engines from HPI *dont* have compatible back plates. Bugger.

Nevermind, I'll order the extra back plate...

Yup, sure was, pretty impressed with the last 5 minutes of flight, dunno how
hard it would be to land on of those beast, but I'm sure it wouldn't have
been easy!

Yeah yeah, tell em you have experience flipping/wheeling/rooster
tailing/jumping and general air travel with a Savage, I'm sure that would
help you along :)

I guess since they aren't going to be using the shuttles for a while, maybe
we could borrow one or two (2 in case we break one attempting a back flip or
something hehehehe)
