Hi I am new to this MY name is James Bartlett my age is 18 i live in Sittingbourne kent. Lifeboats aren't that popular but I think Model Slipway or Kingston Mouldings do a bare hull. Check on http://www.westbourne-model.co.uk/Model-Boat-Catalogue.htm
Btw, the boats on the RNLI site are little better than toys, though the organisation is worthy of all the support it can get. The larger model looks to be about 18" length and is probably equipped with cheapish electronics.

These are kits, you can do this.
Many first time builders are a little sqeamish about building their own boat.
Kits are a good way to start. Most of the details are already worked out for the builder. All you have to do is take your time, and follow the instructions.
Once it is done, there won't be anyone that the you and the model will not impress.
This includes the men and women that work at the lifeboat station.
