Hi everybody,
I work in a firm employed in aerodynamics of road vehicles and I'm starting to woek on a new project regarding a UAV, so I had to serch informations and materials about Autopilot.
This kind of argument is out of our knowledge and we are looking for a low-cost autopilot. :(
Is there anybody that can give me informations or a hand?
Thanks! ;)

At the risk of jumping ***way*** ahead of myself, I'm building something that will be self stable, and be able to autonomously navigate through a set of gps way points. I have most of the parts purchase, but zero coding done. (I've done most of the hard coding work in the context of other larger projects running on PC's, but not within the limits of my little mini flight computer.) I estimate that my basic setup will cost about $550 in parts. Add $200-250 for a radio modem, add in a laptop if you want a ground station, add in a mini-van for ground transport -- gets expensive fast ... :-)
I have high hopes of being able to program an altitude hold and autoland (or at least an approach assist) system on this hardware. I also think I *might* be able to rig up an auto take off system on this same hardware ...
You can track my progress (which is excruciatingly slow because I'm doing this in my limited spare time) at my web site here:

Curt.

Please take a look at our web site at http://www.auav.net/ we have a complete autopilot system that consists of the Ezi-Nav autopilot system a Futaba 9C PCM transmitter and an 8 Channel receiver PCM for the RC control system a data downlink system, moving map display and Virtual Cockpit software.
It is ever thing that you will need to fly your UAV, less the airframe and ground station computer and if you like we can supply that as well.
We have complete UAV'S that have been test flown and are ready to ship. Our system are in use by the U.S. government and by Universities
If you have any questions please contact me at the address and numbers listed below
