A friend of mine wanted to see how My 3 meter would launch on a Zip launch. Attached is a video my son Bret made. We were in Hazen Pennsylvania at the inlaws farm. We hayed the day before so the field was mine to play in. It was windy and Hot. 95 degrees with 15 knots of wind. I shortened the video so it would work.
The zip launcher is 40 feet tubbing from Sal at Nesail.com. The line is 200# mono. at around 75 feet. Its compact and gives over 200 foot launches. Its a little hard to pull back but is good for thermal hunting. Landing practice too if you dont caught a thermal.

I have the rubber I can loan you for trying it.
The second launch seemed to be much better than the first or was that just the angle of the shot?
Too much work for me. When I get to the end ready to launch on a night like tonight my glasses will fog.
Thankyou.

Hi Guys
The second shot was with Bret laying on the ground. Both were about the same pulling power. The wind may have been a little more on the second launch. It is fun. Just things happen real fast. Dont use a woody as it may explode. Although I think Mark Drela could give it a shot

Looks like the same effect I got with my reflexed high start. 50' HD rubber, 300 ft line - with turnaround. :)
Stroke was controlled by rubber staked distance, back from turnaround (that also limited tension and stroke for short launch contests). Birth place was Abequerque NM to get competition to fit onto soccer field real estate. The good guys could get 6 minute averages! Suspect the reflex would launch higher, than your system! We used a flag rather than a cute to cut drag, and have the line drop quickly for the next launcher.:D
PS The woodys really zipped, but didn't blow up! They were built for the club winch - and this was lots lighter in force.

Check out my "Ray's Practice Hi Start", works like a charm on 2m and 3M, I also launch my 132" Sky Bird from, read info on web page for details. http://www.skybench.com/histart.html

Hi Goinav8n,
That's looking sensational :) , and a very tempting thing to try with my FVK K2 3,2m ship. Did you use the standard histart hook of your Tsunami for these launches?

Martijn
