What do you have in mind?
What size:
span?
thickness?
area?
volume?
jointer dia.?
jointer spacing?
Why do you want to use the answer?
Lost the tail?
Broken tail?
You don't like the tail shape?

I am making a plane about 110 inch and want a starting point for the tail.
I really only need width and length of elevator and rudder.
Thanks Dan

Start with the wing. Pick the average chord of the wing. Then pick the tail moment length of the fuselage. Then you can calculate the tail areas.
Ch = (A_hori/A_wing) * (tail_arm/avg_wing_chord)
Cv = (A_vert/A_wing) * (tail_arm/avg_wing_span )
A well-sized tail will be in the range...
Ch = 0.35 - 0.50
Cv = 0.02 - 0.035
If the Ch and/or Cv are below the minimum values, the handling will suffer.
If I help, let me know.
