ok, I have an older color ccd cam tx/rx, got for $30 off ebay, worked ok, but WalMart now has a lot better CCD cam/tx (the little cube) and rx set over in the camera dept for something like $60. 300 ft range, only needs batts. and it has a microphone too, if you're into that. Might wanna keep away from the whine of the motor, otherwise really cheap.

A 300 foott range is useless  Black Widow Video has transmitters that will easily go MILES  and are not that expensive. Also the video from those cheaper cameras (cmos cameras) suucks compared to a good CCD camera... The bright sky washes the ground out and you cant see anything on the ground etc. etc :( . The wal mart stuff is like throwing your money away, because its basically unusable for RC use.

For those that can not afford a good camera system, I would suggest that you save your money until you can. Buying the Walmart or similar cheap setup off Ebay is just throwing your money away... You are betting off waiting until you can get something that works. ;)

Try microcameras.com too. They seem to have better prices than BWAV.

I bought Black Widows KPC-650 Sony 480 line .05Lux top of the line camera. It had some dead pixels that could only be seen in the dark and I called Bill at Black Widow about it (obviously a manufacturing defect). Bill send me a new camera that day and told me to send the old one back when the new one arrived :D No credit card hold, nothing, he just sent the new camera :)

I Paid 220 dollars for that camera. I could have bought that same camera for a LITTLE less (200 bucks) from some other internet company, but how many mail order places would back up thier products like that ?? Most of them dont even want to hear from you after they have your money.

I will always buy my stuff from Black Widow, its worth a few extra bucks to buy from a company that supports and backs up its products like Bill does :p

How many mA do you need for 1+ miles assuming you are using an 8dB gain antenna on the Rx?
