Steve, thanks for your general enocuragement about ECL, I have now setteled on a windy WE to build one. The motor has a small relay switch as with previous posts, the contact switch is just a stiff wire close to the relay. I will add a Gunther prop.

The plane is made from 3mm depron, the LE is 25x25mm high density foam, behind this is 12 x 5mm balsa with 12 x 0.4mm ply caps. The foam sticks onto these. The fuselage and tail is 5mm depron.

I now have to glue the fus to the wing and balance her before I return to my CL flying of xxx years ago. Should be good fun.

Looks interesting Mike. Let us know how it goes, if this blasted wind ever drops :(.

Then of course we'll need the plan....

The wind dropped last night and my friends came to the park to see if she would fly. I tried her on 35' lines, flew ok, managed a couple of loops but eventually had one in which the ground appeared too quickly. Unfortunaly the motor shaft got bent.

Needs either more power or to be slightly smaller and faster. I will put an old 540 motor ina new fuselage and try that with 7 sub c cells. I will put a folding prop on to try to keep the shaft straight. That will get the plane flying better and she should be fine on normal length lines.
