You could try the OptiGlo II by Brent Dane

Use a leaf switch mounted next to the throttle servo control arm. Adjust switch position to obtain correct on/off points. It will be inherently “optic” isolated too. No reason to cut butter with a chainsaw unless you are looking for more features.

I sometimes use the chainsaw just because it's more fun than a butter knife.

Hey thanks for the info the first suggestion was too complicated for me since im only 15 and i was looking for some thing simpiler. Could you post me a pic of a leaf switch and could you tell me where to get one? I was just wondering if i could get 1 at radio shack. Thanks, newguy

Yes, you can get it at Radio Shack (http://www.radioshack.com). The part # is Catalog #: 275-016 (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F011%5F002%5F015%5F005&product%5Fid=275%2D016) .

they are also called micro switches... the one pictured is a rocker arm actuated micro switch. (according tot he way I was trained to ID switches)

I cut a cam out of a large round servo output arm/wheel and use that to actuate a switch of the same style. You can adjust the actuation by slowly grinding the cam shape out of the wheel. (and the spline tooth offsetting of the cam on the servo output gear) the switch I chose has holes that match the spacing of the holes on the mounting flance of a "standard" servo and using long screws and a spacer worked very well.
