I want to do some electric motor tests. In order to do this, I need to supply the motor with a steady DC current that I can accurately regulate. I need to somehow be able to very the Voltage and Amperage going into the motor. How would I do this? I know that this is common knowledge, but I just don't know how to do it (I am just a HS student).

Are you talking brushed or brushless motors? What size? What sorts of currents do you anticipate using?

I am talking about both brushless and brushed. Size will range from 4mm to 10 mm in diameter. Power consumptions of .5-8W. The current consumption would be between .2A and 2A, both DC. The voltage would be between 3 and 13V. How do I eliminate motor noise?

http://www.mpja.com/productview.asp?product=14600+PS is what I'd suggest
Then just leave your ESC at full throttle and adjust the voltage or current as you need.
Or, if you forsee bigger needs in the future, we have several of these and are very happy with them as general purpose bench supplies. They work nicely for charging lipos as well.

Hi, comatose
Good simple product you can find everywhere under everybrands on earth !!!
I have been using a couple for 2 Years now. The weak component is the mains switch, cause of the generous soldering of cables on the AMP contacts.
Note these supplies can be parallelled ...
