I am about to do some soldering and I need to know this. Can someone please help? I have had the small connector cut off from a wall transformer. There are no colors on the two cables so I have no idea what to look for. The transformer itself can not be opened (its a 110v transformer which I can not use here in Finland, just need the connector).

I am going to solder the 12v dc connector to a couple of standard 3.5mm connectors so I can use my own 220v --> 12v transformer.

Just had to open my eyes a bit. The outer is (-) and the inner (+)... Its all printed on the transformer...

Be careful, there is no standard that I know of and I have found some equipment to be opposite, i.e. both ways are found in much RC equipment as JR and Futaba are interchanged.

Thanks for the warning. I'll definitely keep that in mind. This time it worked though. Successfully feed both my CCTV and the 2.4Ghz wireless receiver from my 220v - 12v transformer.
