A beauty to behold!
The classic homebuilt Seawind amphibian is now a sleek and stylish ARF
model that you have to see to believe! No other R/C seaplane looks or
flies like it. And by substituting optional retracts for the included
fixed landing gear, adventurous pilots can have total access to land
AND water with the same plane!
* Wingspan: 71 in (1805mm)
* Wing Area: 676 sq in (43.6dm˛)
* Weight: 10.25-12.25 lb (4.6-5.5kg)
* Wing Loading: 35-41 oz/sq ft (106-127g/dm˛)
* Length: 56 in (1410mm)
* Requires: 2-stroke .60 cu in (10cc) or 4-stroke .70-.91 cu in (11.5-
15cc) engine, 5-7 channel radio w/7-9 servos
* Expertly Covered in Top FliteŽ MonoKoteŽ and constructed with
the finest materials.
* Shaped like a speedboat's hull, the fuselage maintains
straight tracking while enabling the Seawind to accelerate quickly
onto the step for takeoff.
* A self-draining auto bailer is located on the bottom of the
fuse, assuring that no water pools in the radio compartment.
* A foam stand is included for holding the model securely during
assembly and starting; it also keeps the water rudder up off of the
ground.
With its low number of parts, the Seawind ARF requires only 15-18
hours of final assembly. The fuselage and wingtips are gel-coated
fiberglass; the built-up wing and tail section are made of balsa and
covered in MonoKote.
The fiberglass wingtips offer excellent stability in the air, and
double as floats to support the plane while in the water. Because it
has no bulky suspended floats, the Seawind flies faster than typical
seaplanes.
The unique boom-mounted engine design not only enhances the model's
looks, it also reduces the likelihood of water "spray" reaching the
engine during takeoff and landing. A 3-bladed aluminum spinner is
included.
For transportation convenience, the wing simply plugs into an aluminum
joiner and is secured with nylon bolts that require no tools.
