G'day. I'm a newbie who just got his first heli after about 15 years of
wanting one, and had a few questions, if anyone feels they have the time to
help me out.

I bought a Dragonfly (AKA Twister, etc) yesterday. You know, the cheap
little electric one with the fixed-pitch blade and the all-in-one
electronics box. The chopper expert from the shop wasn't around so couldn't
show me how to set it all up etc. However, I got the demo model which was
apparently already setup and trimmed. It came with an el-cheapo Venom V-Spec
4-channel which I proceeded to un-trim by absent-mindedly playing with the
trimmers. It also has a LiPo battery chucked in with it (which barely fits
in the holder).

Now perhaps I'm missing something important here but the stick functions
seem to be messed up! The right stick does throttle (normal) and left/right
cyclic (not normal !). The left stick does forward/back cyclic (normal) and
rudder (not normal !). I have checked all the connections (few that there
are) on the reveiver box, and the only adjustments on the radio are the
ususal axis-inverter for each channel. Also, those little servos seem to
buzz and vibrate a bit at the extremities of their travel. Is this abnormal
? And when I rudder left and right, it pivots right much more energetically
and quickly. When going left it seems to just stop the tail rotor and let
itself slowly drift that way (probably a trimming problem -- but it doesn't
drift when left with a neutral stick).

Apart from that, the chopper works fine (apart from the fact that it shoots
out of control toward the bushes as soon as I hover a bit). Now is this some
variation of standard controls? Is the receiver/radio (slightly) fried ? It
seems weird that if it was fried everything would work fine except for 2
controls being swapped and a bit of servo buzzing.

Does anyone have any idea ? I'm going to see the chopper guy at the shop
when he's back there, which will be a while from now, but for now I just
really want to learn to fly my heli !

Cheers in advance...

Lee.
