Just wondering why no one has done this? Too much weight?

It also depends on the class rules. Q500's must have fixed U/C.

Retracts have been used quite a lot in F3D. They use the lightest available gear and only use it for take off. They wouldn't be strong enough for landing so they keep them up for a belly landing. You probably get a little less drag with retracts but to do so you must have very well sealed wheel wells. All in all, they are generally considered not worth the hassle.

I think that It's the interests of aerodynamic and not created an eddy or vortex of air so Cy(quality aerodynamic) will be raise.

Retracts are fairly big in Europe due to the availability of the Dago Red F3D plane which comes built for them for most it is a lot of work for no real speed gain they just look sexxier. Weight is not a problem for most but the plane has to be designed to belly land also which does compromise the design that someone may like due to the weak legs .

A lot of people use wheel spatts like these
