One of the switches on my supernova charger as failed. It is a push button type. I managed to desolder it and pull it out. It is a double sided surface mount board so replacing it is going to be tricky but I think it is doable. The problem is that there are no markings or numbers on the switch and I know very little about electroncis. Can anyone tell me where to get one of these?

go to the on-line catalog at www.digikey.com and look through the switch section. sure you'll find something compatible there.

Guys, I have the same problem with FMA SuperNova....I am sure if you able to replace the same switch the problem will come back again.
my solution is to get a better switch, I use the smallest MICRO-SWITCH, I did not remove the original switch, I just remove the Plastic Buttons by just removing the small SQUARE PLATE (just use a small Jewel screw driver), you can now see the internal parts of the push button switch......get a 2 small piece of stranded wire and solder it directly at the expose terminal of push button switch.....then install a small MICRO-SWITCH on TOP of the PUSH BUTTON SWITCH, use a glue gun to secure it....then solder the 2 wire to the 2 terminal of MICRO SWITCH (use COMMON and N.O.).
This is the Hardest part, cause you can not make a mistake, you have to cut-off the plastic part mounted on the Aluminum Panel of SuperNova, you have to cut it little by little until you get the right fit.
the above procedure can be done by just removing the TOP COVER with only 4 Screw only......its very difficult to De-Solder the 4 terminal Push Button switch, its much easier just to solder only.
Now, My FMA SUPERNOVA is now better than the originally made Charger....cause a Micro-Switch can give a much higher life-cycle than the Regular Push Button Switch.....Micro-Switch offer a better FEEDBACK more Crisp feeling.
I just wondering, if anybody have reprogram the FMA SUPERNOVA CHARGER, so that it will support the newer Lipoly Battery.....the Charging procedure for LiPoly battery is almost the same as Lead Acid Battery, its the Terminal Voltage is different only.

You would need to alter the charge rates too......
A good idea......I dont know if the pic micro is code protected, if it aint then it would be easy to disassemble the code and edit it...

There are 4275 push button switches in the digikey catalog. I don't know the current rating, whether it is momentary or latched or really anything else about it. I tried looking there and I was simply baffled. I had hoped that somebody out there would recognize what it was. :o
