YAY!

What up yall!

Just con'd the wife into allowing me to buy Realflight G3 (sorry kids
Junior College will have to wait another month...lol) and I played with it a
bit before stopping for the night. Now I want to find chat rooms or a
newsgroup that has an active RFG3 crowd. Anyone know of any? I would really
like to find some info on simulating more types of Heli's in RFG3.

Thats why I'm getting Reflex.
I'm buying one, glad the guy
gave me a few days to get some dough together.
I'm going to use it with my 8103, because I'm
having a little trouble getting used to holding the radio.
can't quite seem to get the hang of holding it and using the 2 finger hold
on the sticks.
Probably will have to rig up some sort of harness as well.

I checked out XRT...I was unimpressed...dont get me wrong its a great
program but for the same amount of money I got a simulator that is just as
good and it came with its own radio (at leat a mock up) so that I didn't
have to use a very expensive radio as an interface.

But that is the whole point. You use the RC unit you will use to control the
heli so that you practice control of the simulated model with the actual
control unit you will use.

I TOTALY agree with using your actual radio fro your sim controller. My
probelm is that I am very poor right now and my heli is a E-Flite Blade CP.
It came RTF and the radio it uses wont connect to a puter for this purpose.
Going out and buying a new (and yes I know...WAY better) radio system would
be preferable but completely unfathomable for me at the moment. $200 for the
heli and another $200 for the sim has me sleeping on the couch as it is.
LOL. I did a fair amount of research on the sims before I bought and the
only two anyone says to use are G3 and Reflex. Both seem to have huge
followings and the camps seem to be split pretty evenly. My LHS only carrys
G3 so that pretty much settled my decision. So I am in no way a relfex
basher but it just was more economical (for me at least) to use G3. I have
been using it for over a week now and I am able to launch any of the
included helis and get them to land with out damage. I wont say that I am
real great at hovering as while I am doing it the bird wont sit perfectly
still. From what I have been told that is pretty normal at my level of
experience though.
