I was given this plane by someone at the club and have began the build. Has anyone flown it? I am thinking a Supertigre G-34 would be the perfect engine for it. Please post any comments and set ups. I also and going to do a mid tail

I have Dodger Q500 plane and it currently has Nelson Q500 engine on the nose. It's very nice handling plane. I flew low 70s times with it.
I built V-tail because it was in fashion at the time, many years ago.

ok thanks, that helped. I was wondering if a super tigre G-34 would be a good engine and give it some speed? Also, what would be the ideal servos for this? I was thinking perhaps a hitech hs-81? Will this be enough tourque?

Thanks
Chad

Hi,
That motor is much lighter so you may have to move servos etc forvard. But as it will be much slower you can have CG further back though. I have HS-225BB but they are not very reliable. I would get same size servos but quality digital versions from Futaba or JR.
HS-81 will likely have enough torque for your plane with G-34 but not for Q500 engine.

I have bought one too, and maybe we are going to have some small competitions in my local club sooner.

But!

In the kit it was only one paper where it says whitch parts who were included (probably a check so there is nothing missing) and three A3 papers (whitch I had to put together myself) on the fuselage. But why is it no description on how I do it, whitch part am I going to start with and whitch do I put toghether next?

One more question:
There is V-tail on the model, isīnt the model going to be very unstable in low speeds with that configuration? How do I mix the Rudder/Elevator with this configuration is it deltamix or what? You now I want to use the rudder in the turns so I can "knifeedge" the plane throw the turns.

If you're building this kind of model you have presumably some experience with other models so detailed instructions are usually considered unnecessary.

A V tail is no less stable than other configurations. Use two servos and a V tail mix on your transmitter to set it up.

To fly knife edge during pylon turns, no rudder input is required. At full speed, these models will knife edge almost all round the course with no rudder input.

Thanks Dave that helped me also.
