I have flown (and landed) exactly one plane, a Gypsy, before I maidened my Alfa P-47 tonight. Needless to say, I was sweating trying to fly a low-winged, small warbird after only simulator and a single high-wing non-aileron flight. She flew GREAT, insanely fast, but great!
My setup:
HS-55 (Elev. and Ail.)
Optic 6 / Electron 6
Hacker A20-20L and X-20 esc
Polyquest 3s 850mah (Don't have my larger packs yet)
Anyway, I was a little disturbed by how dang fast she took off out of my buddies hand, but I powered down to half-throttle and trimmed her out - then it was off to the races so to speak. Loops from level flight were cake, as well as snap rolls. The absolute best was doing really low fly-by passes - Alfa's look so good in the air. I can't wait for my MiG 15 and FW-190 to get here - now that I KNOW I can actually fly them!
Forgive my childish excitement, I am sure you can understand if you remember your first flight and landing (which was stressful but ultimately uneventful with the P-47).
Man, the wife is going to be lonely for the next few weeks... ;)

Congrats on your maiden!

Congrats dude, you can do it. I'm with Cuban, every maiden gets the heart pumping and the hair standing up and I've been doing this stuff for about fifty years. When it stops being this much fun, I don't want to do it anymore.
