Hi Bill
Attached is a Jpeg of my Vario Hughes with SkyFox mechanics and 5 Blade head.
Precession/phase angle problems need to be sorted before I can fly it. That is on the agenda for the weekend.
Best regards
Robert

You are a braver man than me Bill! Just how close were all those cars. The Hughes problem is that Forward stick gives roll right. Right stick gives nose up, back stick gives roll left etc.
I need a whole airfield to fly, Iam lucky to have access to one 2 miles from my front door, my wife has not yet worked out why I like the house so much and do not want to move closer to my work 100miles away.
I will post some flying shots when they are available
best regards

Hi,
i have a four blades bendix (old one) rotor head, and i had the same problem at the beginning.
I fixed it like this:
My controls arms are in front ( and not behind) the blades pads.
Try to have your control linkages as parallel as possible to your main shaft, so you will not have the bad surprise ( like me) to see your cyclic linkages going away with time. Then you have to use the swash plate virtual rotation enabled on your radio and work with it to have the good controls inputs on the swash plate. Works fine with FC 28 and Multiplex 3010 for me.
Do not forget that in order to have the good controls, your rotor must turn at the good speed to see the real effect of the cyclics inputs, if you look at them with main rotor stopped it will look erratic for you.
ANd for the problem of the heli going nose up when stopping after translation, a guy gave me this advise (but i didn't dare trying): make your rotor turn fast with no pithh, to " tense " a maximum your blades, stop the motor and let the rotor stop by itself and screw the maximum you can your blades so you cannot move them, thy should be in perfect position after spinning at high speed for one minute before screwing them strong.
I do not know if it works, but i'll try when i have no fear to brake my heli and i'll tell you if it works.
I hope my advises will help good and that they are not erratics, i worked on differents ways for six monthes before my Hugues 500 works fine !!!
See Ya and sorry for my poor english,
Fabien
