P-51 Mustang PTS

A Revolutionary Breakthrough in Training Technology

The new P-51 Mustang PTS from Hangar 9 is unlike any other product the
RC industry has ever seen—a ground-breaking new airplane that allows pilots to
progress from learning the basics to performing sport aerobatics.

The "PTS" stands for Progressive Trainer System and offers radical new features
certain to alter the face of RC:

- Removable plastic NACA droops that attach to the leading edges of the wing,
providing beginners with extra stability during training by manipulating the stock
airfoil to produce added lift and eliminate tip stalls and spins

- Specially configured fixed landing gear that ensures superior ground handling and
eliminates noseovers

- Speed brakes that keep the flying speed down, making the Mustang easy to handle

- 2-position flaps that control speed and add drag to assist in training; they can
be made fully functional just by adding a servo

Once the pilot has mastered the basics of RC flight, he can quickly and easily
remove the speed brakes, neutralize the flaps and finally remove the droops,
instantly transforming the ready-to-fly trainer into a smooth-flying sport plane
able to fly a variety of aerobatics such as loops, spins and snap rolls. Stretch
the P-51’s potential even further by adding a servo and making the flaps fully
functional. And, most importantly, the P-51 Mustang PTS looks cool.

Everything a beginner needs to start flying immediately is included:

- JR XF421EX 5-channel computer radio system

- Evolution Engines Trainer Power System

- TrainerLink, which connects the included JR transmitter to the flight instructor’s
JR or Futaba radio system

- Machine Works Cockpit Master flight training software for PC computers

- Easy-to-follow instructional DVD

With a wing loading of around 25 ounces per square foot (compared to around 15 oz/sf of a Sig Kadet LT-40 (http://www.sigmfg.com/cgi-bin/dpsmart.exe/ProductsV4.html?L+Sig+ymmg3448+_Ddp_5fSearch1_02B_ 2dPlaneRC_26KadetLt40_01Search_02Index_01)), it would be difficult to feel compassion for any fool who had their ego stroked by the advertising hype and actually purchased this P51 Mustang as a primary trainer.
