Here is the latest boat I have built. It was built in memory of a good friend that has past away recently. It is mimicked after his design a little bit, with a touch of my own. Its 26" x 13" x 2" Powered by a TH46 swinging a 11-4 MA. The boat weighs 5 lbs. 15 oz, RTR, minus fuel.
Some may have known the gentlemen I am talking about...Hap Mulvaney
Thus I named the boat "What's Hap-nin"
When I get to test run it I'll let you guys know how it runs.

Thanks for the compliments!
As soon as I get the chance to video it...I will. I ran it on dry for a few moments to see how it was going to react. I runs dry real well, hoping it does the same on water, since this is a new design for me.
I'll keep you guys posted.

I got to run the boat on water for a moment today. So far I'm liking the performance. I didn't have much time or a camera man with me today so no videos. I will get some as soon as I can. Can't wait to run it again!

Got a chance to burn a little fuel today...took "What's Hap-nin" and the "Home Alone" boat out to the lake. The lake was a little choppy but there was a nice size puddle that made for some good running...just wish I had a little more room to open it up a bit more. But all in all...the boat runs nicely. Has plenty of power when you need it and tracks nicely. It doesn't quit slide in the corners like I like my boats to run, that may have a bit to do with the tappered shape, but is still pleasurable to run. It does develop a little hop under deacceleration but not enough to worry about....sorta reminds me of some of the full size boats.
I had fun building this boat. I think Hap would be proud.

Thanks Kmot!
I went out today to run some grass. I got some video of it also. As soon as I get it formatted I will share that with you guys also.
Its been raining here alot. When they mowed the field it must have been a little wet because the mower left tracks all over the place. It made for a bit of a bumpy ride, so I wasn't able to open it up hardly.

I wish the field was in better condition so I could have put the GPS on it.

that flame job is awsome. did you use an airbrush?
how does that boat sit inthe water. It seems like all the weight is to the rear.

No airbursh. I sprayed it yellow, masked off the boat with painters tape, drew out the design, cut it out with a razor knife, removed what I wanted to be red, painted, then removed teh rest of the tape before the paint dried.
The boat is a bit more transom heavy than most of my boats but it rides nicely. When I get a chance and have a video man, I'll get some more video of it in action.
