I'm going to use a 4 pin Deans plug for connections at the root on each wing panel of a 4 servo wing.

They will be permanently installed, but I've only done it once probably 10+ years ago. My question: Is it common practice to have the 'female' plug on the fuselage and the 'male' end on the wing? Also, you use thickened epoxy to glue in the plugs? Does it hurt to get epoxy on the wires & behind the plug? or do you try to keep it off them at all costs. Would Goop be better than epoxy? But I like the idea of having it done in 5-min. with epoxy :)

OR is it better to have the fuselage side permenently glued in place and the wing side unattached for manually connecting them. That would probably be easier. This is going on a scale sloper but I thought I'd ask you Thermal Guys as you guys do it more often. Thanks for the advise, much appreciated. I did a search but didn't find much.

Most of the time I store my wings on end. The female would be best mounted on the wing. You can epoxy it in place and it will not hurt the wires.

I suggest putting the female socket in the fuse so that you don't have "hot" wires exposed when the battery is switched on.

I second having the female on the fuse, so you don't short anything.

also i leave one end loose, those connectors aren't really made to have both mounted solid.

Thanks very much you guys. I'm going female in fuse, loose male in the wings.
