Hello I would like to ask advice on an electric heli, I am looking at the Honeybee CP2. Brand new to the sport/hobbie, I want something that I can try out with as little money up front as possible. Can someone give me an unbiased opinion of what to get, I have looked at Dragonfly, Piccolo, Hummingbird's honeybee, Need Help please.

If your new to the hobby, why are you even considering a heli? I have been fllying for 15 years, and have been unable to fly my Honey Bee after having it for over 6 months.

By the way, you actually posted this in the wrong forum. I realize this is a Kansas City area forum, but it is for a glider club, to which I dont even belong..........

If you would like to get some good info on getting into the hobby, come to the Business and Technology College Exhibit Hall this saturday. KCFC will be there flying indoors. By the way, I'm Leonard Gaither, President of the Kansas City Flying Circuits, the local electric club that hosts indoor flying.

The BTC is on Universal Ave. a couple blocks north of Front St. A simple map can be seen on our club website. Go to the "Schedule" page. www.kcflyingcircuits.com

Sorry for highjacking your forum, guy's.

Oddly enough, we don't have anyone who flies heli's in our electric club, so I don't think we could offer much advice. Len, thanks for jumping in and helping out. If you get it flying and want to venture outdoors, we've got you covered.

I am not part of the KCSE club (either one) but can recommend either the TREX or the Shogun. Anything less is just that less. When it comes to Helis, especially electric helis, you get what you pay for. Either of those machines will set you back about $600 if you have nothing. It is very difficult to fly (specifically learn on) a machine that has problems to begin with. I am sure the local guys this weekend can steer you properly - make sure you look them up. Learn from others (mistakes) :-)

Well, when considering the cost of the two heli's you mentioned, and owning a Honey-Bee, I would say "You get what you pay for". I have seen my heli fly well, in the hands of an experienced heli pilot, but I cant say it is worth more than I paid for it. It does seem to break pretty easily......

I can not get to your website. Is it not longer available? Is Kansas City Flying Circuits still a club in the KC area?

There must be a problem with the host. I cant get to it, either, nor can I FTP.

I will try to figure it out.

Something is wrong with the server. I could not get to the RCHomepage.com list of websites hosted by RC Groups.
